Tooth Extractions in Atascocita, TX

Dr. Umansky and his team will always try and preserve your natural teeth. However, there are some instances where removing a tooth is the best option to protect your oral health. A simple extraction takes out a tooth that's visible above the gums. This is generally done for a tooth that's damaged or decayed and cannot be repaired. A surgical extraction removes a tooth that has not erupted over the gumline. Surgical extractions are frequently done to remove wisdom teeth and impacted teeth that do not have sufficient space to fit into your smile. Regardless of the reason for needing a tooth extraction at Aesthetic Dentistry Associates, our team will give you the best care. Our Atascocita, TX office offers different sedation techniques, such as nitrous oxide and oral-conscious sedation, that can help you remain comfortable throughout your treatment. Get in touch with our team for more information or to schedule an exam with Dr. Umansky to boost your smile.

Dr. Umansky and his team perform extractions at our practice using local anesthesia to numb the treatment area. Different forms of sedation might be used depending on the extent of the extraction and to help you stay relaxed if you have some dental anxieties. As soon as you are ready, the extraction process will begin. For a simple extraction, Dr. Umansky will loosen the tooth using a special device called an elevator before removing the tooth. A surgical extraction involves making incisions in your gums to get to the tooth. If needed, the tooth could be broken up into smaller pieces so that it can be removed. When the tooth is removed, Dr. Umansky will stitch the incision in the gums. You may be prescribed antibiotics to be taken before and following the procedure — in case you have a current illness, if your immune system is compromised, if the process is prolonged, or if you have some other specific health problems.

In Atascocita, TX, some individuals may hesitate when faced with tooth extractions, fearing the process or hoping to avoid it altogether. Our team understands these concerns and strives to ensure that our clients are fully aware of the positive outcomes that can arise from proceeding with recommended extractions. Some of the oral health advantages of getting tooth extractions when needed are:

  • Protects Surrounding Teeth: One of the primary benefits of tooth extraction is the prevention of harm and decay spreading to healthy adjacent teeth.
  • Sets the Stage for Dental Implants: For those considering dental implants, extractions can be a vital first step. This procedure prepares the mouth for future restorations, paving the way to recover both the appearance and functionality of the lost tooth.
  • Comfortable Procedure: Tooth extractions are performed using topical anesthetics to numb the treatment area thoroughly, helping the client to remain as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.
  • Prevents Further Infection: Extracting a tooth that is severely decayed or infected can halt the spread of infection in the mouth, protecting overall oral health and preventing more serious health issues.
  • In-Office Simplicity: The extraction process is relatively straightforward and can be efficiently performed in the dental office, eliminating the need for more complicated surgical interventions in many cases.

I went in today for a simple tooth extraction, but with my fear and anxiety after previous bad experiences I was not happy about going and getting it done, but the people there where beyond helpful and reassuring that everything was going to be okay, as well as answering my million questions. I had an iv sedation (I think that's what it was) and it was a breeze and was over in what felt like no time, I'll definitely be going back for all my dental needs!

From the time my mother and I walked in we were greeted with nothing short of amazing service! Mercedes kept in touch about my mom's procedure and guided us through it all step by step. Dr. Nikmard did an exceptional job on my wisdom tooth extraction. He also was able to guide us through the extensive procedure my mom needed and he has been wonderful with making sure we understood it and got the best results. Will definitely be back here for any further dental needs in the future.

Had a good overall experience in my wisdom tooth removal. The procedure seemed scary as I had to take out all 4 of my wisdom teeth and I didn't want to take IV. Dr Hyung made me comfortable with the procedure and appropriate anesthetics were given and I never felt any pain during the procedure. The medications helped with the pain for few days after procedure and after 1.5 weeks everything was back in good shape. The front office also was very proactive in their work. They verified my insurance before my arrival, and I did not have any wait times during any of my visits to the office.

Dr. Bollman and her assistant Ale were both wonderful. Explain everything that was going to happen and I had no pain for tooth extraction.
