What Are Digital Dental X-rays?
Digital dental x-rays or dental radiographs are often performed at your annual dental exam to provide our dentists with a comprehensive view of your mouth. Dental x-rays allow Dr. Umansky to diagnose issues that aren't visible to the naked eye and to understand more about your oral health by showing the interior of your teeth, jawbone, and gums. Decay, cavities, cysts, bone loss, abcessess, and tooth impaction are some of the many oral health conditions that can be diagnosed with digital dental x-rays. When these oral health conditions are identified early, they can be treated more efficiently with more treatment options. As part of your annual dental exam at Aesthetic Dentistry Associates, dental x-rays can help our Atascocita, TX team accurately diagnose and treat dental conditions.
How Are Digital X-rays Taken?
It typically takes about 5 – 10 minutes to complete digital x-rays, which are often taken before beginning your dental cleaning or exam. Most clients will have a set of dental x-rays taken of the teeth, gums, and jaw. Once they are complete, they will be uploaded and viewed by you and Dr. Umansky throughout your appointment. From there, Dr. Umansky will be able to assess if there are any areas of concern and discuss treatment options.
What Are the Benefits of Digital Dental X-rays?
At Aesthetic Dentistry Associates, embracing modern technology is at the forefront of providing exceptional dental care. Among these technological advancements, digital dental x-rays stand out for their ability to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment planning process. Some of the notable advantages of digital x-rays include:
- Precise Diagnosis: Digital dental x-rays provide incredibly detailed images of your teeth, gums, and jaw. This precision allows dentists to accurately identify a wide range of dental conditions, from minor cavities to more significant issues like bone loss or unerupted wisdom teeth.
- Minimal Radiation Exposure: One of the most significant benefits of digital x-rays is the minimal amount of radiation used compared to traditional x-ray techniques. This makes the process safer for patients and reduces any long-term health risks.
- No Special Preparation Required: Patients appreciate the simplicity of digital x-rays. There's no need for any special preparation, making the process straightforward and stress-free.
- Comprehensive Dental Imaging: The detailed views provided by digital x-rays give an accurate, in-depth look at your oral health.
- Comfort and Safety: Digital x-rays are a safe and comfortable approach to dental imaging. They eliminate the discomfort of biting into the traditional x-ray films and significantly reduce the time spent in the dental chair.
- Quick and Efficient: The process of taking digital x-rays is fast, often taking just a few minutes.

Aesthetic Dentistry Associates Reviews
I really like this dental office. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful facility, it's clean, and they seem to always fit you in when needed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they lack consistency as far as dentists that work there. I have had 3 different dentists the last three years. For whatever reason, they are always hiring new dentists to replace the ones that leave. All of them have been friendly and good dentists, I can't complain there, but I just wish I could build a good doctor/patient rapport with a single dentist, and not have to meet a new one every year.
The staff were great. Very thorough and no wait time. Great experience!
Highly recommend this place to everyone. Always so nice and friendly
Professional. Took extra time I needed and did not rush me.
Dr Bollman took good care of me.... No pain at any point having my first ever tooth pulled at age 53...
